Welcome to the USS Pandora!

“The true tragedy of Pandora’s tale isn’t that she opened the box—it’s that we keep blaming her for showing us who we truly are. Every great discovery comes with a price, but knowledge of ourselves is worth any cost.” - Unknown

2390: Hobus has exploded, destroying Romulus and Remus and throwing the Star Empire into chaos. Elements of the Imperial Fleet have set up a new Capital on Achernar in the center of what is known as Romulan-controlled space. Many of the warship commanders are calling for a new era of aggression and expansion, to prove that even with the death of their homeworld, they are still powerful. The reconstituted Senate is in a similar mood, but one of peace and strength instead. No one knows what is being decided as Achernar has been interdicted by the Imperial Fleet.

Elsewhere in the Federation, peace is a welcome interlude, with only occasional skirmishes punctuating the calm. Still, there are whispers of things in the deep dark of space and a rumour that the Gorn are on the hunt once more.

USS Pandora is an Intrepid-class starship, completed in 2385 with all the bells and whistles and under the initial command of Captain Margeaux Collan for her initial cruise, she suffered heavy damage in a skirmish with the Tzenkethi and taken back to Earth's spacedock for repair in 2386 for an extensive rebuild and a fresh crew. Placed under the command of Captain Logan Holtz, Pandora became synonymous with hope for a brighter future. In early 2390 she was once again brought in for a refit and outfitted with new experimental technology that was held under close confidentiality. Captain Holtz and his handpicked senior officers were tasked with testing these new technologies out, but first there is a new mission: Retrieve a defector from the Romulan Star Empire who claims to have critical information regarding what is happening withing the Empire.

Current Mission:
Mission 1: Beginning Anew

Captain Logan Holtz and the rest of Pandora's senior staff have been killed by a nerve agent during a senior staff meeting as they await Lieutenant (JG) Malakai Gold and the Romulan Defector. The nature and secrecy of the mission were such that only some higher ups within Starfleet and the Federation knew about this defector, along with the senior members of Pandora. Lieutenant Líng Dōngyuèguāng, known as Luna by her friends and those who are on a first name basis with her, is the only Senior Staff officer on board, formerly the Chief Science Officer, now thrust into command of the ship with the knowledge only that this was an inside job. There's only one person she can trust and he's not back yet, but this mystery must be solved, or else the price that her friends have paid will be for naught. And if this mission fails, who knows what the price for the Federation will be.

Lieutenant Dōngyuèguāng Ling stood in the open as the shuttle settled towards the ground before turning to face back towards the atmospheric shield in the standard protocol for the Pandora. All shuttles were required to be ready to depart the ship in an emergency, which also lined up most of the hatches with the entry to the bay. She took another glance at the top PADD as it landed, reviewing the file of the 'guest' that was going to be aboard. She was, of course, the designated greeter for this sort of event, naturally, because she looked harmless and she…

Mission: Mission Zero

Sydney was whistling to herself as she arranged the books on the wall of her office. So far it had been a fairly quiet morning. She was getting used to her quarters, and being on a starship in general. No one mentions the constant hum of the engines, or the slightly noticeable feel of artificial gravity, despite being "Earth normal", but she was adjusting thus far.

The door to her office chimed and she looked around in surprise. She wasn't set to take patients yet, but she wasn't about to turn away someone in need. "Come in," she said, brightly.…

Mission: Beginning Anew
Posted on Tue Sep 29th, 2026 @ 1:11am by Lieutenant Dōngyuèguāng 'Luna' Ling

"And once again, Luna decided that she wants to keep us waiting!" Lieutenant Commander Arthur Haviland said in a frustrated voice as the clock ticked past the appointed hour, plus ten minutes. He then gave a deep chuckle in response to his own statement, "Not that she won't have a good excuse, like that Mal kept her waiting for him the entire time."

The rest of the room joined him in his humour as the red-uniformed Flight Control officer Jerome Alvitar gave a waving gesture, "Or that there's some problem with the scout ship he went in on."

"Or that…
